1.In what way does your media product use forms and convections of real media product?
When i looked at other classical music magazine front covers, contents pages and double page spreads i found that my magazine contained all the same aspects as a real magazine and included each code and convection that is found in a real magazines.
I have recorded myself asking a member of my target audiance and these are my results.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
The two images above are collages of the different technologys I used to create my magazine. The first collage is of the three different technologies I used, Photoshop, paint and Quark found all three technologies easy to use however I found photo shop much easier to get started with because I have used it before in years 10 and 11, but when I got stared and became more comfortable with quark I began to enjoy using that a lot more than Photoshop.
Using paint I was able to adjust the size of the images I used however I did not use paint as much for my production, this is because all the tools found on paint are also available on Photoshop.
When I first used quark I didn’t understand it well but after I begun to use it I found it much easier to use. With quark you are able to create a much cleaner layout for all your information. I used only the text box and import picture box because I had no real use for any others. I was able to create a drop capital in my work by using one of the tools provides. However I did find some bad points to quark, you were unable to spell check anything so when writing my article I had to draft it in word then import it into my magazine. I found that the layout I was left with looked similar to those found in real magazines.
7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

3 .What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
After researching different publication companies I found that for my genre of magazine Haymarket media group would be a good company to publish my magazine through because it offers more classical music magazines than IPC or Bauer media. Therefore they would know how to advertise the magazine, knowing where to sell the magazine and where to place advertisements. However I also found that it would be good idea to use a publisher that does not have any magazines in the same genre as the classical magazine, this is because it would not have any competition with other classical magazines in the publishing company. Therefore they would be able to advertise it much more and focus on selling it.
4.Who would be your audience for your media product?
An ideal buyer for my magazine would be a middle aged to elderly well educated person either male or female who enjoys listening to classical music, reading and travelling. The perfect male reader would be a business man because he would be smartly dressed suggesting that he has a good job to other people and able to buy a magazine every month, he also would be successful therefore he might be interested in classical music, boats or golf etc. The ideal woman reader would be a successful woman who enjoys going to watch ballet and going to watch the orchestra.

5. How did you attract/address your audience?
For question 5 how did you attract/ address the audience? I audio recorded questions being asked and answered.
I asked members of my target audience what they thought of my magazine and weather it appealed to them. The following questions are what I asked them.
Questions
1. Does my music magazine appeal to you?
2. Would you buy my magazine if it was on sale?
3. Do you think the colour scheme works?
4. In what ways do you think I could improve my magazine?
5. Do you think the price of my magazine is reasonable?
6. Do you think my layout worked well?
7. Do you think my images related to my magazine genre?
8. Do you think that my double page article was relevant to the genre of my magazine?
9. What are your favourite aspects of my magazine?
10. Do you feel my magazine relates to my target audience?

Using Photoshop I have learnt how to edit pictures a lot better cutting out images much cleaner and placing them onto a different background. With one of my images (the image below) I was able to cut out the middle section and place the correct image inside it. I was bale to do this by using the lasso tool then scaled the image down to size to fit into the box.
Using paint I was able to adjust the size of the images I used however I did not use paint as much for my production, this is because all the tools found on paint are also available on Photoshop.

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Technology and Differences
By looking at real magazines I was able to produce my classical magazine to follow the codes and convections of those magazines, unlike the preliminary task where I made a school magazine without looking at any magazine prier to the production.
By looking at both my preliminary task and my classical magazine front cover you can see that my technology skills have improved greatly. My presentation is much clearer organised. Because I was able to look at real magazines during my music magazine production I was able to create a magazine much more similar to one found on a shelf. The technology used to produce my preliminary front cover was the same as the technology I used to produce my front cover of my music magazine but you can see that my knowledge for the different tools available has improved. By looking at real magazines I was able to understand the codes and convections of agazines much more, this meant I was able to create a magazine more accurate to a real magazine.
The images I used on my preliminary task were all taken by me and edited by me the same as the images on my main task, but you can see the difference in quality and mise en scene.

Artical
This is my double page artical finished
The jazz bands leading man
People say that classical and jazz music isn’t something teenagers are into these days in a world where Beyonce and Paramore rule, but the teenagers in Weatherheads schools jazz band are just as interested in classical and jazz music as the current top chart entries thanks to Mr Brown a talented and enthusiastic music teacher and band leader.
Mr Brown is the brains behind Weatherhead’s School Jazz Band and is keen to get all children in Weatherhead interested in music, but has he always been interested in music himself? The answer is yes, since he was a little boy Mr Brown has always liked music but it wasn’t until he was about 12 that Mr. Brown truly knew he loved music and everything about it, humming a new tune. At this point he picked up and began to play an instrument. Like any music lover, Mr Brown had a collection of instruments he learnt to play, Mr Brown took up five instruments, the tuba, trombone, piano, euphonium (small tuba) and the drums. Unlike most people who learn to play an instrument Mr. Brown taught himself to play. Mr. Brown’s inspiration to become a music teacher came from a ‘Bloke’ that taught him in the youth orchestra. He taught Mr. Brown how to get the best out of his instruments but in doing so inspired him to teach by the way he taught and the rewards that he gained from teaching children to love music so much more than they already did. This ‘Bloke’ had a great impact on how he teaches and he encourages more people young and old to join in with music and start playing an instrument. Mr Brown found it difficult to control a Jazz Band with so many people with so many diffrent sounds and personalities at once but as the months went on he began to understand the ways the band worked and he was able to teach and keep the band in time with each other. Mr Brown picked up on how Talented everyone was in the band and knew their different personalities affected their way of learning so he worked his teaching skills around his band, therefore making the band sound and act as one. As he begun to teach them he noticed that eachmember was committed to the band and in turn made Mr Brown’s work so much easier. Jazz and classical music has always played a major part of Mr. Brown’s life but as he got older he found this interest gr ew. Miles Davis, one of the greatest visionaries and most important figures in jazz history, is one of his favourite jazz artists and heroes. Mr Brown feels that if just one person could really inspire him to become musical then he could inspire more kids to join jazz bands or take up an instrument. Mr Brown feels that you should allow children to see what music is like, giving children a musical instrument and letting them play what they like, letting them see how fun and interesting music can be. He feels now that more bands have become more involved in the instrumental side of music they will help encourage more kids to get involved. When asked who he felt was his best musician Mr Brown was reluctant to tell me but he then told me that he felt Nicky Howley was his most talented student as of yet. However he then added that all of his band are talented and the Year 7s thathave joined this year are at a stage where they could become fantastic and great by the time they are Nicky’s age. Growing up Mr. Brown won a lot of awards during his time in primary school and high school but as he got older there were no real opportunities to win but he always enjoyed winning musical competitions this is where he felt he belonged, on stage with an instrument in his hands. Mr Brown enjoys both jazz and classical. He confessed to me that he has never been to the proms and rarely watches it on the television because he is so busy teaching and mentoring the Jazz Band however he did say that he would love to go, every year he says to himself, “this year I’ll go”, then the proms come and go and he still hasn’t gone. For a music teacher at Weatherhead High School, Mr. Brown hasmanaged to meet many different famous people, I was amazed and shocked to find that he has met people from the Queen to John Barnes as a performer in orchestra and bands. Although Mr. Brown has always loved and beeninterested in being a music teacher he loved being in a band just as much, he was in a band called CheeseCake. Unfortunately they didn’t have a record deal however Mr. Brown is currently in a band and play at weddings, birthdays and Christmas parties, where he becomes the rock star he’s always dreamed of being.
